The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) has partnered with the Los Angeles County Department of Arts & Culture and the Los Angeles Department of Mental Health (DMH) to provide high quality professional development focused on arts integration, social emotional learning, and trauma-informed practices.
The Technology Enhanced Arts Learning (TEAL) project uses blended professional learning (online and in-person) to build capacity in arts education throughout Los Angeles County schools. The target audience includes TK-6 teachers, along with Expanded Learning Staff (ELS) and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) specialists, who work together to embed SEL content and awareness into arts-based teaching practices. There are a variety of resources organized for on-demand accessibility before, during, and after the professional development. This format supports your successful and effective navigation to integral online tools referenced throughout the training.

This past week at Scale Up! was a professional learning experience unlike any other our team has experienced. Each day was more than a full day of deep learning. I went to bed each night dreaming of the possibilities that were sparked by our work together.
I am so thankful for your work. This has been very profound. The learning will inform the plan as we move forward. We have a special team. It is incredibly important for us to have a common language and common goals rooted in student success, informed by SEL and the arts. Moving forward, the experiences of the past week will most definitely become major threads in the tapestry of Monrovia Unified.
